WOMAN-TO-WOMAN HEALTH LECTURE SERIES CONTINUES AT UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND DENTISTRY OF NEW JERSEY

NEWARK, N.

J., Feb. 10 -- University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey issued the following news release:

The "Woman-to-Woman" health lecture series by The University Doctors at the UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine continues this month with a nod to American Heart Month, along with information on how to relieve arthritis symptoms without medications, injections or surgery.

On Thursday, Feb. 17, beginning at 10 a.m., family physician Dr. Aubrey Olson will present a free lecture on high blood pressure, a leading cause of heart disease, which is the number one killer of women in this country. Dr. Olson's lecture will be at the Stratford Senior Center, 302 Union Ave., in Stratford.

The following week, on Tuesday, Feb. 22, a lecture by Dr. Danielle Cooley, of the NeuroMusculoskeletal Institute at UMDNJ, will explain how osteopathic manipulative medicine - moving a patient's muscles and joints through stretching, gentle pressure and resistance - can reduce arthritis pain and increase mobility. Dr. Cooley's lecture begins at 10 a.m. and will be at the Camden County Library, 203 Laurel Road, in Voorhees.

The "Woman-to-Woman" health lectures are free and open to all area residents. Those interested in attending any of the lectures can register by calling (856) 566-6207 or by emailing to sominfo@umdnj.edu.
