NSW: Off duty cop charged with trying to steal fridge

SYDNEY, Dec 21 AAP - An off-duty police officer has been charged with trying to steal
a fridge from a Sydney garage.

The 30-year-old man was allegedly caught trying to take the fridge from a secure underground
garage at a unit complex in Warburton Street, Gymea, on December 10.

When police tried to speak to the Kirrawee man he allegedly ran from them and resisted arrest.

He was taken to Sutherland Police Station.

Following investigations, on December 19 the officer was issued with a court attendance
notice for break, enter and steal offences and resisting arrest.

He is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on February 4 next year.
